with proper prep and finish? The reason I ask is that is where the real time, $$, and results are. If you paid (I'm just throwing out a number) $500 for a paint job, those are the kinds of things to expect (not right, still sloppy, but expected), but if you paid a reasonable "higher end" price for a decent paint job (depending on body work, it would start at $2,000), then you have every reason to go back and have him give you your money's worth. Trim, keyholes, etc. should not be painted and the paint should be hardened (if mixed properly) so it doesn't smudge when you touch it. To answer your question...no you are not being too picky and it sounds like the finish work and prep was poor. Go talk to the guy and see if he'll make you a satisfied customer. Just my .02$.
